Tips for staying safe online

Do not share personal information. This is the single most important rule in Kopi Kaki, in any online game, and online generally.

• Never share personal information: your password, full name, address, school, phone number, NRIC or any photo that reveals who or where you are.
• Kopi Kaki staff and moderators will never ask for your password.
• If someone makes you uncomfortable, ignore them, leave the room and report them straight away.
• Keep calls and chat about the game, and check with a parent or guardian before moving a conversation to another app.

Built in line with Singapore's online safety guidance

Kopi Kaki is made in Singapore, for a mostly Singapore audience, and is designed with Singapore's approach to online safety in mind, including IMDA's Code of Practice for Online Safety and the Digital for Life movement's guidance on protecting children online:

• Proactive moderation: filtered chat, a staffed report queue, and moderators who can mute or ban.
• Easy, visible reporting and blocking tools built into chat, calls and rooms, not buried in a menu.
• Clear rules for younger players: a minimum age of 13, no real-money gambling, and spending limited to optional cosmetic extras with no cash-out.
• Personal data handled under the PDPA, with self-serve access and deletion, and limited retention of chat.
• Age-appropriate design: no strangers-only voice calls and no public sharing of personal details.

For parents

Kopi Kaki is designed for players aged 13 and up. Talk with your teen about who they chat with, and show them how to use Ignore and Report.

Spending. Everything can be played for free. Gold and Diamonds are optional premium currencies for rare furniture, bigger room layouts and extra room slots. Buying them with real money is not open yet. You can never earn them by playing, you never need them to play, and they cannot be cashed out. Gold can be converted into Kaki Dollars and Diamonds into Gold, but never the other way round. Payments happen on a payment provider's own page, and we never see or store card details. Players under 18 should ask a parent or guardian before buying anything, so it is worth agreeing a spending limit together.

Our responsibility, and yours

We work hard to keep Kopi Kaki a safe, friendly kopitiam through the tools and moderation described above. Even so, Kopi Kaki is a free, as-is social space between players, and we cannot monitor every message or guarantee the conduct of everyone in it. To the extent the law allows, Kopi Kaki and its operator are not responsible for the conduct of other players, content they share, or any loss, damage or distress arising from your use of the game.
